Groundwater Utilization Permit (SIPA) Administration and Water Resources Utilization Permit (IPSDA)
The Definition of Groundwater Utilization Permit (SIPA) Administration and Water Resources Utilization Permit (IPSDA)
Groundwater Utilization Permit (SIPA) and Water Resources Utilization Permit (IPSDA) are forms of legal authorization granted by the government to business entities to ensure legal certainty in the utilization of water resources. SIPA grants businesses the right to extract and use groundwater in a controlled manner to support their operations, while IPSDA allows for the legal extraction and utilization of surface water such as rivers, lakes, or reservoirs. Both permits not only support business continuity but also ensure that the use of water resources is conducted efficiently, sustainably, and in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations, while also contributing to environmental preservation and the broader public interest.
Scope of Work SIPA and IPSDA
- The SIPA application process includes a groundwater potential study, field inspection, well design planning, document submission, and ends with the issuance of the permit by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).
- The IPSDA application process involves surface water assessment, field inspection, preparation of technical recommendation documents from the River Basin Authority (Balai Besar Wilayah Sungai/Balai Wilayah Sungai), and concludes with the permit issuance by the Ministry of Public Works (PU).
