Jakarta, July 27, 2026 – PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) continues to strengthen its role as a Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) company in supporting national mineral export governance. Through the development of strategies for the identification of associated minerals, including Rare Earth Elements (REE) and radioactive elements, SUCOFINDO promotes a more comprehensive, accurate, and accountable verification process to support mineral downstreaming and enhance the competitiveness of the national industry.
This commitment is in line with the Coordination Meeting on the Governance of Critical Mineral and Rare Earth Exports organized by the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) at the Bina Graha Building, Jakarta, on Monday (27/7). The forum discussed the strengthening of policies and governance for strategic minerals as part of accelerating the national downstreaming agenda.
During the forum, the Chief of Presidential Staff, General (Ret.) Prof. Dr. Dudung Abdurachman, stated that Indonesia has an estimated Rare Earth Metals (REM) reserve equivalent to approximately 350 thousand tons of Rare Earth Oxides (REO). According to him, this potential needs to be managed through strengthened governance and downstreaming efforts to generate greater added value for the national economy.
“Rare Earth Metals should be understood as the development of the national industrial value chain, not merely as mining activities. The greatest added value is created after the processes of separation, refining, and transformation into high-technology industrial components,” said the Chief of Presidential Staff.
Synergy with Danantara Strengthens the Verification System
In line with efforts to strengthen national mineral export governance, PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) continues to strengthen its synergy with Danantara Indonesia. During a meeting between the Chief Operating Officer of Danantara Indonesia and Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency, Dony Oskaria, and the President Director of PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO), Sandry Pasambuna, both parties discussed strengthening a more effective, transparent, and integrated mineral export verification system to support the competitiveness of Indonesia’s mining industry.
Dony Oskaria stated that the transformation of governance, business models, and human resource development forms an important foundation for building state-owned enterprises that are professional, adaptive, and globally competitive.
“The presence of Danantara and the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency, through the transformation of governance, business, finance, and human resource development, has introduced new business models, operations, and work culture that drive state-owned enterprises toward world-class performance,” said Dony Oskaria.
President Director of PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO), Sandry Pasambuna, emphasized that SUCOFINDO is committed to supporting the national development agenda through independent, professional, and reliable Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) services.
“SUCOFINDO will continue to support the national development agenda by strengthening verification, inspection, testing, and certification services to improve transparency, compliance, and the credibility of governance in the mineral sector and other strategic sectors,” said Sandry Pasambuna.
He added that the company’s transformation continues to focus on strengthening governance, accelerating technology adoption, improving service quality, and expanding its operational network to meet the increasingly dynamic needs of the industry.
“Through collaboration, innovation, and strengthened capabilities, we are confident that SUCOFINDO can continue to create added value for national development while enhancing Indonesia’s competitiveness at the global level,” concluded Sandry Pasambuna.
