Promoting Food Safety Standards, SUCOFINDO Conducts Training for Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units

Cilacap, (29/4) – PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting government programs in the field of food safety by organizing Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Awareness Training for Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) in the Cilacap area and its surroundings. This activity is part of efforts to strengthen the implementation of food safety systems in support of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program.

Head of the Strategic Business Unit for Commodities and Trade Solutions, Tri Haryadi, stated that this training is a strategic step to ensure the quality of the government’s food program.

“Through this HACCP awareness training, we aim to ensure that SPPG managers have a strong understanding of a preventive and measurable food safety system. This is essential to ensure that the food distributed to the public is safe, of high quality, and meets established standards,” he said.

Tri Haryadi also added that education is the key to building a sustainable food safety culture.

“We not only provide certification services, but also encourage capacity building through training. With a good understanding, SPPGs can identify potential risks at an early stage and implement appropriate control measures, thereby increasing the confidence of the public, partners, and the government in the implementation of the MBG program,” he added.

Meanwhile, Acting Head of PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) Cilacap Branch, Ipmawan Hidayatullah, explained that the HACCP awareness training was conducted over two days at Wiradadi Husada Hospital, Banyumas, as part of efforts to improve participants’ understanding of the implementation of food safety systems.

“This training provides a comprehensive understanding of the importance of implementing the HACCP system as a preventive and systematic approach to identifying, evaluating, and controlling potential food hazards throughout the production chain. The materials presented covered the basic principles of food safety, identification of biological, chemical, and physical hazards, as well as the implementation of Good Hygiene Practices (GHP) as the foundation of the HACCP system,” he explained.

In addition, participants were equipped with an understanding of the stages of HACCP implementation, ranging from team formation, hazard analysis, and the establishment of Critical Control Points (CCPs), to monitoring systems and corrective actions.

As a Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) company, PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) is committed to supporting the implementation of food safety and quality assurance systems through integrated services, including halal certification, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System certification, as well as inspection, audit, laboratory testing, product certification, and technical training to ensure that every stage of food production complies with applicable quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
