The inauguration follows the groundbreaking ceremony held on May 10, 2026, as part of a program to construct 70 clean water wells across various regions in Indonesia in celebration of PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO)’s 70th anniversary.

Following the kick-off event, the project proceeded through several stages, including the installation of clean water facilities and supporting infrastructure. Upon completion and readiness for operation, the well was officially handed over by ABPEDNAS and PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) to the Head of Lambleut Gampong, representing the local community. The facility is expected to help fulfill daily clean water needs while improving the community’s quality of life in a sustainable manner.

This clean water initiative reflects a collaborative effort to enhance the quality of life in rural communities by providing safe and sustainable access to clean water. In addition to delivering direct benefits to local residents, the program also supports President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita agenda to strengthen national water security and contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to clean water and sanitation.

I also encourage the community to maintain, care for, and utilize this bore well properly so that it can provide long-term benefits,” he stated.

ABPEDNAS Chairman and Vice Chairman for Education Affairs of the Jakarta Chapter of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI Jaya), Indra Utama, emphasized the importance of clean water facilities in supporting daily life within rural communities.

“Village development is not solely about infrastructure; it is also about ensuring that communities have access to basic necessities, including clean water. We hope this facility will be utilized responsibly and maintained collectively so that its benefits can be sustained over time,” he said.

Indra Utama further highlighted that community involvement is a key factor in maintaining public facilities, ensuring that the program delivers long-term social and health benefits.

On the same occasion, Chairman of the ABPEDNAS Supervisory Board, Prof. Dr. Reda Manthovani, stressed the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders in sustaining social programs.

“The success of a program is not only measured by its construction process but also by how the facility continues to be utilized and maintained collectively by the community in a sustainable manner,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, Independent Commissioner of PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO), Mahatma Gandhi, expressed appreciation to all parties involved in supporting the clean water initiative.

“Clean water is a basic necessity that is vital to human life. Access to clean water directly impacts public health, productivity, education, and overall quality of life. Therefore, this clean water well development program holds significant strategic value,” he stated.
