Timika, May 16, 2026 – As part of its commitment to enhancing the competitiveness of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs), the Halal Inspection Body (LPH) of PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) has intensified its halal certification education initiatives for women entrepreneurs affiliated with the Perhimpunan Wanita Kuana Kencana (PWKK) and the Women’s Affairs Department (DPW) of Kuala Kencana, Timika.
The initiative supports the implementation of Law No. 33 of 2014 on Halal Product Assurance and Government Regulation No. 42 of 2024, which progressively requires food and beverage products produced by micro and small enterprises to obtain halal certification.
PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) Timika Branch Head Djoko Julianto stated that the program reflects the Company’s commitment to helping business owners understand the importance of regulatory compliance and halal standards in strengthening their businesses.
“As a Halal Inspection Body (LPH), PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) not only serves as an auditing institution but also actively provides education and guidance. This initiative represents a concrete step toward increasing public awareness and facilitating greater participation in the halal certification process. Ultimately, we hope to contribute to the expansion of Indonesia’s halal ecosystem,” said Djoko Julianto.
He emphasized that improving awareness of halal certification is essential to supporting government regulations, particularly among MSMEs in Kuala Kencana and surrounding areas.
“Halal certification not only provides assurance for Muslim consumers in both domestic and export markets, but also serves as a guarantee of product quality, hygiene, and safety for consumers in general,” he added.
Djoko Julianto further reaffirmed SUCOFINDO’s commitment to strengthening halal literacy and supporting businesses in meeting regulatory requirements.
“As an accredited Halal Inspection Body, SUCOFINDO remains committed to enhancing halal awareness and education across communities, ensuring that business actors are better prepared to fulfill halal certification obligations,” he stated.
With national and international service coverage, the Halal Inspection Body of PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) is ready to support businesses of all scales, particularly MSMEs, through its comprehensive Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) services, enabling them to compete more effectively in both domestic and global markets.
“As an accredited Halal Inspection Body, PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) is supported by an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited halal laboratory capable of conducting testing for porcine DNA, alcohol content, and water permeability for cosmetic products,” Djoko Julianto explained.
Participants in the educational program expressed their appreciation for the initiative and its tangible benefits to local entrepreneurs.
One of the participants, Fachriani Wanggai, Chairperson of the Kuala Kencana Women’s Association, welcomed the program and encouraged its continuation.
“We hope more outreach and educational programs like this will be conducted in the future because they are highly beneficial and can engage an even broader range of MSMEs,” said Fachriani Wanggai.
