SUCOFINDO Expands into Japan to Strengthen Global Market Access and Support Sustainable Energy Development

Japan, April 10 – PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) continues to strengthen its role as a leading Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) company by expanding its services into international markets, particularly Japan. This strategic move forms part of the Company’s efforts to enhance the competitiveness of Indonesian industries, support export growth, promote global standards harmonization, and advance sustainable business practices.

The expansion is being realized through a strategic collaboration between PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) and the Japan Quality Assurance Organization (JQA). The partnership covers the development of certification and market access services, collaboration in testing and inspection activities, capacity building initiatives, and the strengthening of joint certification schemes.

President Director of PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO), Sandry Pasambuna, stated that the collaboration represents a significant step toward strengthening Indonesia’s position in the global marketplace.

“SUCOFINDO serves as an enabler for Indonesian industries to meet international standards. Through this collaboration, we aim to create broader market access opportunities, particularly in Japan, while enhancing global confidence in Indonesian products and services,” said Sandry Pasambuna.

As a state-owned enterprise operating in the TIC sector, SUCOFINDO plays an important role in supporting government regulations, ensuring industrial compliance, and strengthening Indonesia’s national quality infrastructure. The collaboration is also expected to facilitate trade flows between Indonesia and Japan while increasing international recognition of Indonesia’s TIC services.

PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) Director of Operations, Dani Pramantyo, added that the partnership is part of the Company’s broader transformation strategy to integrate operational processes with global partners.

“The harmonization of standards through this collaboration will enhance service quality, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen organizational readiness to compete in an increasingly globalized market,” Dani Pramantyo explained.

Beyond strengthening trade access, PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the global sustainable energy transition through enhanced assurance services for palm biomass as part of the green energy ecosystem.

During the International Biomass Expo at Tokyo Big Sight, Japan, SUCOFINDO showcased its extensive capabilities, supported by a nationwide network of 68 laboratories, 29 branch offices, and 93 service points across Indonesia.

“SUCOFINDO possesses the expertise and infrastructure required to ensure that palm biomass products comply with international standards, enhance global market confidence, and strengthen sustainable energy supply chains,” said Sandry Pasambuna.

The Company’s services include sampling and testing, quantity verification, sustainability verification, and traceability assurance to ensure transparency throughout the supply chain. These capabilities are increasingly important in meeting global Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) requirements and market expectations.

Furthermore, PT SUCOFINDO (PERSERO) continues to expand its sustainability-focused service portfolio, including technology-based environmental monitoring and management solutions, environmental audits, ESG consulting services, and support for green mining, green smelters, sustainable procurement, eco-label certification, green buildings, green ports, renewable energy development, and Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) initiatives.
