Jakarta, 22/10 – PT SUCOFINDO handed over halal certificates to 26 Micro Small Enterprises (UMK) at the celebration of the 66th Anniversary of PT SUCOFINDO and symbolically handed them over by Commercial Director of PT SUCOFINDO Darwin Abas.
“The handing over of this halal certificate is PT SUCOFINDO’s commitment to the Ministry of Religion’s (Kemenag) Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH) program to realize 10 million Halal Certified Products in 2022,” said PT SUCOFINDO President Director Mas Wigrantoro Roes Setiyadi. The program was launched by the Minister of Religion (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas at the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the Ministry of Religion’s Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) in 2022.
In addition, this halal certificate program is part of the BUMN Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program for 1,000 Free Halal Certificates.
Mas Wigrantoro added that MSEs with halal certificates could provide certainty their products are following applicable standards. “We hope this halal certificate can encourage MSEs to upgrade and expand into the export market. The implementation of halal product guarantees aims to provide convenience, security, safety, and certainty of availability of halal products for the public to consume and use.
UMK, whose products have received halal certificates, has gone through awareness activities on the halal product guarantee system, Sihalal application workshops, and halal product inspection by LPH PT SUCOFINDO.
“Furthermore, we assisted the process of hearing a halal fatwa by the Fatwa Council of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) until the issuance of a halal certificate by BPJPH,” said Mas Wigrantoro.
