Pre-Shipment Inspection Elucidation
Import-export actors must obey pre-shipment Inspection Elucidation Import regulations set by the importing country’s government before the goods arrive at the port. Pre-shipment inspections are carried out to increase the effectiveness of collecting duties and other levies, provide accurate statistical data for government decision-making, and ensure domestic supply security to stabilize prices (for export PSI).
The pre-shipment inspection also anticipates detecting potential problems and confirming the goods’ actual quantity, quality, and price before they are shipped.
Pre-Shipment Inspection Service Scope
Following the WTO (World Trade Organization) provisions, this inspection assignment is required for monitoring foreign exchange flows, budget use, and customs. Inspection of conformity with those listed in the export or import plan has a scope that includes aspects of quantity, quality, price, and classification of postal tariffs or Harmonized System (HS) numbers, as well as compliance with applicable regulations.
