Jakarta, 16/1 – PT Sucofindo held a web seminar (webinar) entitled Sucofindo with a Culture of OHS to Achieve Superior Operations within the framework of the National Occupational Safety and Health (OHS) month, Friday (13/1). President Director of PT SUCOFINDO Mas Wigrantoro Roes Setiyadi said that holding this webinar was a concrete step for PT SUCOFINDO’s support in implementing K3. This is also in line with the Ministry’s directives “Realization of Decent Work with a Culture of K3 to Support Business Continuity in Every Workplace of Workers in the 2023 National OSH Month agenda with the title”.
Main Director of PT Sucofindo Mas Wigrantoro Roes Setiyadi revealed that “The issue of K3 is not only talking about preventing work accidents but more than that, namely the influence of work safety on company performance and the welfare of all people working in the company,” continued Mas Wigrantoro .
Therefore, this sharing session aims to increase the understanding and concern of all Sucofindo personnel regarding the implementation of occupational health and environmental safety in each existing work unit. “We hope that all SUCOFINDO employees will be more concerned about and understand efforts to implement K3,” said Mas Wigrantoro.
In line with Mas Wigrantoro, Director of PT Waskita Toll Road Subkhan, it is necessary to implement OSH consistently and become a culture in the company, both in the formal and non-formal sectors. “Hopefully this K3 can become a culture so that it has become a routine for employees, which is carried out on a daily basis. In the future, companies that have implemented K3 will definitely get appreciation from both national and international levels,” said Subkhan.
Furthermore, PT Sumbawa Timur Mining Health Safety and Risk Manager Yan Fuadi explained how strengthening the OSH culture requires understanding in each individual to determine his position in the OSH cultural maturity.
“The old paradigm still focuses on occupational health and environmental issues only on the OSH work unit as one of the main factors that make each individual lack awareness of the application of OSH culture in the work environment. Even though they have a K3 culture, everyone must understand that safety is my business. Safety is my business,” continued Yan.
In addition, Johannes Pakpahan, Head of PT Sucofindo Balikpapan Branch, was also present as a speaker. Johanes hopes that the implementation of OSH culture is the responsibility of all individuals. “This is a joint commitment, so all parties must play an active role in the K3 culture so that accidents and work-related illnesses are avoided. This is also aligned to support business continuity,” said Johanes.
In the commitment of the National K3 Month, PT SUCOFINDO also simultaneously held various K3 activities at 28 Branch Offices during the period January 12-February 12 2023. Main Director Mas Wigrantoro hopes that holding them simultaneously can be an effort to increase and harmonize the understanding of K3 culture.
“Hopefully this OSH implementation will not only be carried out during the National OSH Month but must continue to be pursued and carried out in a sustainable manner so that it becomes part of the company’s work culture,” said Mas Wigrantoro.
