BATULICIN-7/3 – PT SUCOFINDO has inaugurated a coal testing laboratory in the operational area of PT Borneo Indobara (BIB). The establishment of this coal testing laboratory is driven by PT SUCOFINDO’s commitment to providing excellent service to customers, one of which is through the proximity of the laboratory to customers.
On this occasion, PT SUCOFINDO President Director, Jobi Triananda, expressed the hope that the close location would provide efficiency to customers, especially in terms of time. This aligns with PT BIB’s KPI achievement, namely the Turn Around Time (TAT) target.
“With the laboratory in the PT BIB operational area, the testing process will be faster and will assist services to PT BIB. In addition, PT SUCOFINDO also provides reporting and test analysis results through an integrated reporting system application with PT BIB’s digital system and dashboard,” he said.
Jobi Triananda added that the SUCOFINDO Laboratory onsite at PT BIB currently focuses on testing capabilities with full parameter analysis for coal commodities.
In addition to the coal commodity testing needs, PT SUCOFINDO can support PT BIB in the end-to-end process of its main business operations with Inspection, Testing, Certification, Consultancy, and Training services for other business players, such as Green Initiatives (Green Initiation Roadmap (DRAM/LCAM), Green Building, LVV GHG). Environmental condition monitoring (SPARING, River Flow Monitoring System, mine acid waste, domestic waste), and good mining governance.
Furthermore, energy use audits, various management system certifications, ISO 9000 – Quality System, ISO 14001 – Environmental Management, ISO 27001 – Information Security, ISO 50001 – Energy Management, SMK3, and certification of facility and equipment safety (SLO and K3), as well as social management (CSR management impact assessment with SROI and CSI methods, Social Mapping).
As a surveyor company, Jobi Triananda stated that PT SUCOFINDO upholds the surveyor code of ethics, which is independence and maintaining integrity so that the parties trust it and will certainly provide added value to customers.
“The reports provided must be by the field results and existing data facts, following the applicable standards. PT SUCOFINDO, as a corporation, is also ISO 17025 certified, which is a reference for testing laboratory competence, so we have Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) according to international standards in our work,” said Jobi Triananda.
In addition, SUCOFINDO is also ISO 17020 certified, which is an international standard quality management system for inspection services. “Furthermore, SUCOFINDO is committed to continually motivating, training, and fostering. We do this constantly to maintain trust, work quality, health, and safety at work,” said Jobi Triananda.
At the inauguration event, PT. Borneo Indobara Operational Director, R. Utoro stated that having a testing laboratory near PT BIB’s operational area is expected to help PT BIB achieve the Turn Around Time (TAT) targeted in the company’s Key Performance Indicator (KPI).
Furthermore, as one of the largest coal mines in the country, having an onsite laboratory operated by PT SUCOFINDO can ensure customer satisfaction with the quality of the coal they purchase.
Muhammad Eko Supriana, Head of PT SUCOFINDO’s Batulicin Branch, stated that the focus of the SUCOFINDO Laboratory onsite at PT BIB currently has the capability to test full parameter analyses, including Total Moisture, Proximate Analysis (Ash Content, Inherent Moisture, Volatile Matter, Fix Carbon), Total Sulfur, Gross Calorific Value, HGI, Ultimate Analysis, Ash Analysis, Ash Fusion Temperature, Trace Element, Radioactive Data Value, Moisture Holding Capacity.
Additionally, to support PT BIB, PT SUCOFINDO provides TIC services for PT BIB’s needs at the River Lake Service Unit, which is part of PT SUCOFINDO’s Batulicin Branch.
“To ensure safety and quality of service to customers, PT SUCOFINDO, Batulicin Branch, has also implemented an Occupational Health and Safety Management System following Government Regulation no. 50 of 2012, achieving a gold flag award and Zero Accident Award, which includes the River Lake Service Unit and UP IBT,” said Eko Supriana.
