Jakarta, 29/5 – PT SUCOFINDO has successfully won the prestigious Top CSR Awards 2024 for the third consecutive year, receiving the Five-Star Level (#5) award, along with the Top Leader on CSR Commitment accolade for the President Director of PT SUCOFINDO, Jobi Triananda. These awards were presented in recognition of SUCOFINDO’s commitment to implementing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs through sustainable business practices and supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This award reflects a commitment of PT SUCOFINDO to implementing the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs sustainably, encompassing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) aspects,” said Evi Afiatin, the Finance and Risk Management Director of PT SUCOFINDO.
Evi Afiatin added that the CSR programs of PT SUCOFINDO have the concept of Creating Shared Value (CSV), where they are integrated with business strategy.
SUCOFINDO believes sustainable business growth can be achieved through social and environmental responsibility, creating economic and social value together. One of SUCOFINDO’s flagship CSR programs is the development of a biogas facility in Kebumen Regency, which aligns with SUCOFINDO’s business competencies and contributes to the achievement of sustainable development goals, including addressing climate change issues.
“This program collaborates with the local government to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and has had a direct positive impact on the community,” said Evi.
Budi Utomo, the Director of Industrial Services at PT SUCOFINDO, added that climate change mitigation aligns with PT SUCOFINDO’s role as a Validation and Verification Institution (VVI) for the Greenhouse Gas and Carbon Economic Value schemes.
Budi Utomo further explained that the optimization of this biogas program is aimed at utilizing methane gas from waste at the Final Disposal Site (TPA) to produce biogas, which can be used by local communities, for instance, as an alternative household fuel. “Through this program, we contribute to climate change mitigation caused by greenhouse gases (GHGs) and strengthen the role of PT SUCOFINDO as a Validation and Verification Institution (VVI),” said Budi Utomo.
