Bandung (23/2) – PT SUCOFINDO is synergizing again with Chugai Technos Corporation, in an effort to optimize NDT (Non-Destructive Test) services, especially for Scale Checker services as well as expanding fields of cooperation in the energy, environment, and infrastructure sectors. This collaboration was confirmed in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which was signed by the President Director of PT SUCOFINDO Mas Wigrantoro Roes Setiyadi with President and Representative Director Fukuma Satoshi at the 2023 National Leadership Meeting of PT SUCOFINDO in Bandung (23/2).
The NDT Scale Checker service, according to the Main Director of PT SUCOFINDO Mas Wigrantoro Roes Setiyadi, is able to assist in the Acceleration of Renewable Energy Development, especially in the field of geothermal energy, where clogging of scale deposits is one of the main obstacles in the operating system. This is also in line with the implementation of Presidential Regulation No. 112/2022 concerning the Acceleration of the Development of Renewable Energy for the Provision of Electricity.
“In addition, the NDT Scale Checker can be a solution for operators or owners of oil, gas, or geothermal operating facilities in reading profiles of obstacles or disturbances in production pipelines, namely by checking the thickness of deposits in the pipes without stopping the production process or open the pipe,” said Mas Wigrantoro.
Going forward, Mas Wigrantoro said that he will continue to be committed to supporting government programs in order to ensure the availability of energy sources through other SUCOFINDO services, in the fields of geothermal analysis, geoscience, geochemistry, geophysics, and other consultancies, such as well as management of renewable energy industry assets.
Furthermore, President and Representative Director Fukuma Satoshi stated that this synergy has 3 focus areas of cooperation. “Our focus is on efficiency and optimization of chemical plants in Indonesia through NDT (Non-Destructive Tests), handling climate change issues in both countries through environmental chemical analysis, and ensuring the safety of concrete infrastructure in Indonesia through structural surveys for buildings,” said Fukuma.
Fukuma welcomes this partnership and marks the 70th anniversary of Chugai Technos. “We will celebrate the 70th anniversary of Chugai Technos in 2023. This time, Chugai Technos’ partnership with Sucofindo is also one of the main celebrations of our anniversary,” said Fukuma.
Viktorianus Iva Taufik, Head of the Strategic Business Unit for New and Renewable Energy Assets, stated that he is ready to assist the needs and business development of Chugai Technos Corporation through the NDT Advanced Scale Checker service. “NDT Advanced Scale Checker is a type of non-destructive inspection on flow pipes that uses the tomography principle with a low-level-radiation source. The NDT Scale Checker method is faster, easier, and more efficient in reading resistance profiles in pipes,” said Viktorianus.
In addition, in assisting Chugai Technos Corporation’s business development, PT SUCOFINDO was able to support the Environmental Analysis Testing Inspection. “PT SUCOFINDO is equipped with an accredited environmental testing laboratory and human resources related to environmental services,” Viktorianus continued. This is also in line with PT SUCOFINDO’s commitment to maintaining environmental sustainability and ensuring that exploration activities can be carried out with due regard to environmental aspects.
“Apart from focusing on Advanced NDT and Environmental Analysis for services in the renewable energy sector, together with Chugai Technos Corporation will also carry out development services in the field of Structural Inspection. Going forward, we will also maintain our commitment to meeting customer needs, especially Chugai Technos Corporation, and developing joint services,” concluded Viktorianus.
