Pontianak (1/2) – PT SUCOFINDO inaugurated the SUCOFINDO Pontianak Branch office and laboratory building on Jl. Artery Supadio KM. 12.5 Limbung Charcoal, Kec. Raya River, Kab. Kingdom Fortress. This new office and laboratory building is a commitment of PT SUCOFINDO Pontianak Branch to get closer to customers and improve service quality.
West Kalimantan Governor Sutarmidji expressed his appreciation to PT SUCOFINDO for PT SUCOFINDO’s commitment to improving the quality of its services. “In the future, we hope that PT SUCOFINDO can maintain its commitment to providing the best service, which is able to help the mobility of business actors efficiently in the West Kalimantan region,” said Sutarmidji.
Sutarmidji added that currently, West Kalimantan Province is focusing on a green economy. “PT SUCOFINDO’s role is very important in realizing a green economy in West Kalimantan. Green economy implementation is very important to protect the environment. I hope SUCOFINDO can socialize it to business people,” said Sutarmidji.
Furthermore, the Main Director of PT Bureau of Classification of Indonesia and also the Chairman of Holding IDSurvey Arisudono fully supports PT SUCOFINDO’s efforts to improve service quality. Arisudono hopes that in the future the Pontianak Branch of SUCOFINDO will be able to maintain its commitment and be able to support development in West Kalimantan.
In the development of West Kalimantan, PT SUCOFINDO can support the potential of the region, one of which is encouraging business actors to implement a green economy in a sustainable manner, one of which is realizing responsible mining in the mining sector. “The mining sector also encourages mining companies to implement responsible mining, in order to be able to comply with applicable regulations. This is in line with the commitment to implement the Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs), which are related to Responsible Consumption,” said the Main Director of PT SUCOFINDO Mas Wigrantoro Roes Setiyadi.
To fulfill responsible mining, PT SUCOFINDO also serves quality control from mining to integrated pit to port of loading, as well as collaborating in supporting the application of the Mineral and Coal Information System (SIMBARA).
Mas Wigrantoro added that for sustainability, PT SUCOFINDO also has an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) roadmap and training service. “The ESG is a framework used by stakeholders to assess how companies manage risks and opportunities related to sustainability issues with regard to 3 key elements, namely the environment, social impacts, and also the governance structure. In addition, in environmental sustainability, we also have Verification and Validation (VV) services for GHG emission statements. Companies can now ensure that the GHG statement will be communicated to external sources as well as other environmental information, such as waste management, water, and other environmental information,” said Mas Wigrantoro.
Head of PT SUCOFINDO Pontianak Branch Paolo Manurung added that apart from optimizing the mining sector, PT SUCOFINDO Pontianak Branch supports the potential of the West Kalimantan region with services in the plantation, agriculture, and environmental sectors. “Our laboratory is also equipped with test facilities in the environmental, plantation, and agricultural sectors. In addition, we are able to support business actors to increase their competitiveness, especially MSMEs, with a halal certification test service,” said Paolo.
Currently, PT SUCOFINDO Pontianak Branch has service units in Kendawangan, Ketapang (West Kalimantan), and Pangkalan Bun (Central Kalimantan), “And it is planned to open a new operational unit in the Kijing area. The Kijing site is projected to become a center for smelters, asphalt, crude palm oil (CPO) exports, bauxite, and fuel transshipment,” said Paolo.
