Preparation of UKL-UPL Elucidation
For business actors who are not included in the mandatory AMDAL criteria, they are required to have Environmental Management Efforts and Environmental Monitoring Efforts (UKL-UPL). In this case, PT SUCOFINDO has competence and experience as an institution providing UKL-UPL preparation services.
UKL-UPL is a series of environmental management and monitoring processes outlined in standard form to be used as a prerequisite for decision making. Apart from that, UKL-UPL is also included in business licensing, or approval from the Central Government or Regional Government.
Preparation of UKL-UPL Service Scope
Next is the aim of preparing the UKL-UPL:
- Evaluate the potential impact of a project or activity on the environment and society
- Identifying business risks to the environment
- Preparation of mitigation plans
- Ensure legal compliance
- Involve stakeholders
Then the UKL UPL preparation mechanism
- Collection of secondary and primary data
The data collection stages include administrative data requirements, profiling data on business activities to be built/studied, and sampling of environmental quality around the location of business activities.
- Document Preparation
The consultant began compiling environmental documents based on secondary and primary data that had been obtained.
- Document Assistance
The documents that have been prepared are then signed by the business owner and submitted to the Environmental Service for administrative assessment and holding an assistance meeting between the consultant and the assessment team before being discussed at the document discussion meeting.
- Document Discussion Meeting
After the administrative assessment and assistance (if any) have been corrected or revised by the consultant, the documents are returned to the Environmental Service for document discussion.
- Documents Revisions
The consultant revises the document resulting from the discussion and discusses it with the business owner, then submits it back to the Environmental Service. If there are still revisions and if they are appropriate, the relevant agency will make environmental recommendations regarding the permit.
