SUCOFINDO Inaugurates 10 Stalls with Food Hygiene Knowledge in the Cikole Tourism Area

Bandung (1/3) – PT SUCOFINDO through the Social and Environmental Responsibility Unit (TJSL) in collaboration with Perum Perhutani provided assistance to repair facilities and infrastructure to 10 (ten) stalls in the Cikole Jayagiri tourist area, West Java. Furthermore, this tourist stall was inaugurated directly by the Director of Finance and Risk Management of PT SUCOFINDO Budi Hartanto together with the Head of Perhutani’s Independent Ecotourism Business Unit West Java and Banten Regional Division Agus Mashudi.

The collaboration with Perum Perhutani cannot be separated from the direction of the Minister of BUMN, Erick Thohir, regarding the 3 (three) Focus Priorities for Implementation of the TJSL program contained in the Minister of BUMN Regulation Number PER-6/MBU/09/2022 concerning BUMN Social and Environmental Responsibility Programs.

“The assistance for repairing tourist kiosk facilities and infrastructure is a collaboration with Perum Perhutani in realizing TJSL activities according to the direction of the Minister of BUMN who has set 3 (three) Priority Focuses for implementing the TJSL program in BUMN, which are Education, Environment, and Development of Micro and Small Enterprises (UMK),” said Director of Finance and Risk Management of PT SUCOFINDO Budi Hartanto.

Budi said that the assistance provided was part of a post-Covid-19 recovery. “The place is strategic because it is passed by visitors who will travel to other tourist sites around the Cikole Jayagiri area. However, after being hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, it became less maintained. Therefore, this assistance is an effort to increase turnover and help the economy of the surrounding area,” said Budi.

In addition to assistance with building tourist kiosk facilities, PT SUCOFINDO has also contributed to increasing capacity and awareness regarding the Introduction of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Food Hygiene to Micro and Small Enterprises (UMK) actors at the Cikole Jayagiri Resort stall. The training was attended by 17 (seventeen) participants offline on 20 February 2023 at the Cikole Jayagiri Resort Hall.

“Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Food Hygiene are basic requirements for the food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries to produce high quality and hygienic products. The training was carried out in order to provide knowledge and skills for MSEs so that they can process food in a clean and standard way,” explained Budi.

Furthermore, the Head of Perhutani’s Independent Ecotourism Business Unit, West Java and Banten Regional Division, Agus Mashudi, said that this assistance was very useful to support the economy in the Cikole Tourism area. “We feel very helped by the improvement of facilities and infrastructure. We hope that visitors will continue to increase so that the surrounding economy will also be helped so that the welfare of the surrounding community will be better. Especially with the GMP training, we realize there are many things we can do to make the Cikole area more attractive and safe to visit,” said Agus.

As a Testing, Inspection, Certification, Audit, and Training company, PT SUCOFINDO has a Food Safety inspection agency certification in providing Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Food Hygiene Training to the public. This is also supported by the capacity of Human Resources who have been certified by GMP, HACCP, and ISO 22000 Auditors.
