Bandung, (23/2)- PT SUCOFINDO has succeeded in fulfilling the accreditation requirements of the Main Halal Inspection Agency (LPH) set by the Ministry of Religion’s Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH). Thus, the PT SUCOFINDO LPH is the first Main LPH that has the national and international scope of work. This accreditation is adjusted based on Law Number 33 of 2014 concerning Guarantees for Halal Products, Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation, Government Regulation Number 39 of 2021 concerning Implementation of the Field of Halal Product Guarantees, and SNI ISO/IEC 17065:2012.
Furthermore, this accreditation legality document was submitted by the Head of the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) of the Ministry of Religion Muhammad Aqil Irham to the Main Director of PT SUCOFINDO Mas Wigrantoro Roes Setiyadi, during the 2023 National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) in Bandung.
Previously, PT SUCOFINDO had operated based on accreditation certificate No. 110 of 2020 as LPH and determination as LPH from BPJPH based on Decree Number 117 of 2020.
The Head of the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) of the Ministry of Religion Muhammad Aqil Irham stated that with competence PT SUCOFINDO which is equipped with 28 branches can meet the target of halal certification. “PT SUCOFINDO has a target of realizing 5,000 halal certificates. My hope is that with SUCOIFNDO’s current competence as a Main LPH with audit and testing specifications, we can realize this target,” said Aqil Irham.
Furthermore, the President Director of PT SUCOFINDO Mas Wigrantoro Roes Setiyadi expressed his gratitude to BPJPH for the results obtained for LPH SUCOFINDO. “We thank God that we have fulfilled the requirements and won accreditation as the Main LPH with the national and international scope of work so that we can support the realization of the target of halal certification for business actors.”
With this accreditation, Mas Wigrantoro added, “And as the Main LPH, we are ready to serve inspection and/or product halal testing activities proposed by business actors with National and International coverage.”
This achievement is in line with PT SUCOFINDO’s support for the implementation of the Ministry of Religion’s target, which is to achieve Indonesia’s vision of becoming the Center for the World Halal Product Industry in 2024. “We are ready to support the government in encouraging business actors to implement halal certification. The implementation of this halal certificate, it can encourage business actors to expand into the export market. In addition, with the scope of SUCOFINDO’s role as the Main LPH for international coverage, it is able to provide convenience, security, safety, and certainty of the availability of halal products for the public in consuming and using foreign products,” said Mas Wigrantoro.
Head of PT SUCOFINDO Halal Unit Agus Suryanto said that in this accreditation PT SUCOFINDO Main LPH can provide Verification/Validation, Inspection, Audit, and Laboratory Testing if needed, for products in the form of (1) food and beverages (3) cosmetics (4) chemicals (6 ) genetic engineering (7) consumer goods (9) services. “We are committed to meeting the needs of business actors in increasing competitiveness through our role as LPH,” said Agus Suryanto.
Furthermore, to support the implementation of halal certification, PT SUCOFINDO is equipped with digital services, namely the application of the Halal Application and Halal Information System (SAHIH) on halal.sucofindo.co.id.
“The SAHIH application is integrated with the SIHALAL BPJPH application, so it is enough for business actors to fill in and upload data and information on the requirements for a halal certification application to the SIHALAL application and automatically connect to the SAHIH SUCOFINDO application after the documents are checked by the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) and forwarded to SUCOFINDO as the LPH chosen by business actors. Furthermore, the data and information are used in the product halal inspection process until reporting and are processed using SIHALAL. Hopefully, this digital service will make it easier for businesses,” said Agus Suryanto.
In addition, Agus added that PT SUCOFINDO is equipped with qualified laboratories and Halal testing equipment, as well as quality accredited human resources. “In the future, we are ready to help business actors in accordance with our role as LPH,” said Agus.
