President Director of PT Perkebunan Nusantara X Subiyono said Philippine is a prospective market since the country incessantly mixes 10% bioethanol with fuel. It will even increase the mixing percentage by 20% in the future.
“This first export is an effort to boost performance of bioethanol plants in the future,” he said amid the first delivery of fuel grade in Mojokerto, Wednesday (07/02/2014).
Subiyono added the company is also considering export cooperation with a number of parties abroad. It is expected that it will lead to sales purchase agreement.
President Director of Energi Agro Nusantara Agus Budi Hartono said technically, local industry can produce quality bioethanol, as the product is well received in international market.
“We prove that we can compete with US and Brazil. Their products are indeed cheaper, but they are far away. We have possible loophole,” he said.
PT Energi Agro Nusantara produces fuel grade bioethanol with minimum purity of 99.5% and octane number 120. It is produced from the processing of molasses. (t10)
