PT BCI Asia projected construction sector in Indonesia to grow by 39% or IDR433.82 trillion next year compared to this year worth IDR312.09 trillion. The growth was driven by stable economic condition and increasing infrastructure development sector in next year. The increase was also driven by decreasing infrastructure cancelation and delay project rate.

PT BCI Country Manager Agus Dinar said some 52% of the prediction is from building and property sector. The rest came from civil construction such as roads, bridges and other infrastructure projects.

“This is triggered by the increasing number of developers who plan to build property projects, and also because of declining interest bank loans to purchase homes and building,” he said, Tuesday (11/27).

Meanwhile, for civil construction sector could not be maximal, due to it is influenced by government policies, such as licensing issues, bureaucracy, land availability, and human reasources.

Agus is predicted construction sector growth will also driven by infrastructure project development public private partnership scheme which is likely to be started in next year. (t08//tw)
