Expands Market Reach, SUCOFINDO conduct AWT audit in the ASEAN region

Controlling nearly 80% of the market in Indonesia and trusted by the International Livestock Export Pty.Ltd (ILE), Australia to do the audit of animal welfare, SUCOFINDO expand market of Animal Welfare & Traceability (AWT) audit services in the ASEAN region.

Since the issuance of WTO provisions on animal welfare in the livestock commercial trade, AWT audit activity continues to expand in the ASEAN market. The countries in the ASEAN region, which has an interest in the origin and animal welfare rules requiring exporters to comply with it.

"Last April, we are trusted by the International Livestock Export Pty.Ltd (ILE), Australia to do AWT audit in Singapore," said Audit Coordinator, A. Iskandar. The audit was conducted on the management of sacrificial animals in most of the mosques, including the mosques of Jawatankuasa Korban Masjid-masjid Singapura (JKMS) or Singapore Mosques Korban Committee.

Recently, SUCOFINDO gained the confidence of the Australian Rural Exports Pty Ltd (AUSTREX) to do an AWT audit to its supply chain to Malaysia and the Philippines. Activities that include audit-inspection, starting from feedloter in Australia to the abattoir (slaughterhouse) in the destination country. On the territory of Malaysia, which is in the Sah Alam and Air Hitam, AWT audit began last August and continued in October 2012. Whereas the AUSTREX supply chain to the Philippines has been done at the beginning of October 2012 and resumed in early November 2012.

The growth of AWT audit services in the ASEAN region is increasing. Audit requests, mostly from livestock companies in Australia would be filled by SUCOFINDO. At the end of 2012, is targeted that SUCOFINDO markets would expand to Vietnam and Brunei Darussalam. [oth]
