Export Duty from Mineral Ores Revenues IDR8.07 trillion

The Ministry of Finance projected revenues from export duty of mineral ores in 2013 to reach IDR8.07 trillion.Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Ministry of Finance Agung Kuswandono said in the 2013 Draft of State Budget, the government is expected to raise the export duty to IDR31.70 trillion.
However, without the revenue from export duty of mineral ore, then revenue from export duty in 2013 is projected to be only IDR23.63 trillion.
"With the undergoing licensing process or with the strengthening of economy and international trade, the demand from overseas is getting higher so that the imposition of 20% export duty could be set off from the profit margin," he said on the sidelines of the hearing with Commission XI of the House, Monday (09/24/2012).
Imposition of export duties in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Finance No.75/2012 on the Determination of 65 Mineral Raw Commodities Subjected by Export Duty as much as 20% that became effective on May 16, 2012.
"Certainly, it has considered the rising trend in commodity prices in international markets," he said.
The prognosis of mineral ore export duty revenue as much as IDR8.07 trillion in 2013 is based on projected foreign exchange value from mineral ore export amounting IDR21.49 trillion and export volume of 36.21 thousand tons.
However, based on data from the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, the realization of revenue from export duty of 65 mineral ore commodities during June-August 2012 was IDR361.40 billion.(T03/TW)
